Spencer Donnelly

Spencer joined the Green Timber Consulting Forester’s staff in May of 2020 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. The summer before his senior year of high school, Spencer began working for the Bureau of Land Management Cadastral Field Survey Section as a survey technician. He spent a total of four summers there, working all over the state of Alaska to establish and set original corners and property boundaries. Following this, Spencer gained vital experience in the forestry industry through an internship with J.M. Longyear out of Marquette, Michigan. Throughout his two summers spent here, Spencer gained experience in timber marking, timber sale layout, road construction, and log scaling. Past experience has exposed Spencer to a variety of equipment usage and adverse field conditions, allowing him to feel comfortable with the ever-changing U.P. weather and technological advances. Spencer’s current duties at Green Timber include timber sale layout and various types of forest inventory.

A native of Houghton, Michigan, Spencer grew up playing hockey and indulging in all of the pleasantries that the Copper Country has to offer. Today, Spencer still enjoys playing hockey, but has developed a deep passion for the spring and fall run of steelhead and salmon and deer hunting. As the lake effect snow starts to pile up, you can find him taking advantage of the steep terrain the Keweenaw has to offer on his snowmobile.
