Many of our clients are currently experiencing unexpected delays in the bidding of their otherwise completely prepared timber sale. This is because throughout the duration of COVID-19 shutdowns, stumpage prices have fallen significantly below their average value. Due to this, we have strongly recommended that landowners postpone bidding their sales in order to maximize the realized value of their standing timber. We understand that this isn’t ideal for many landowners, but are thankful that we work for such an understanding client base. Once the economy begins to re-open it is more than likely that stumpage prices will return to their pre-COVID values. At this time, we will begin to bid out the timber sales that we already have installed. We are still taking on future timber sale preparation work and are more than capable with assisting new clients in achieving their land management objectives. Stay safe everyone!
